SpaceChimps Privacy Policy

TheAppCollectionLTD (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the SpaceChimps mobile game (“SpaceChimps” or the “App”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information SpaceChimps collects, how we use it, when it is shared with service providers, how long it is retained, and how you can request deletion of your information.

By using SpaceChimps, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account and gameplay information

When you create and use a SpaceChimps account, we may collect and store:

Your chosen callsign/username.
Your selected character or suit customisation.
Your scores and gameplay statistics.
Leaderboard information associated with your account.
Information required to maintain your game account and prevent abuse.

SpaceChimps does not require you to provide your real name, physical address, or payment information to create an account.

Device and technical information

SpaceChimps may use a randomly generated device identifier to help operate the App and associate certain local app data with your installation.

We may also receive technical information necessary for the operation, security and troubleshooting of the App.

Push notifications

If you grant notification permission, SpaceChimps may receive and store a device push-notification token so that we can send notifications to your device.

You can control notification permissions through your device settings.

Advertising information

SpaceChimps uses Google AdMob to display advertising.

Depending on your device and settings, advertising providers may process advertising identifiers, such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or Google's Advertising ID, as well as information used to provide, measure and personalise advertising.

You can control certain advertising and tracking choices through your device settings and available privacy controls.

Contacts

If you choose to grant SpaceChimps access to your contacts, phone numbers may be temporarily processed to help identify contacts who may also use SpaceChimps.

Contact information is used only for this matching purpose. We do not retain your entire contact list.

If a phone number does not result in a relevant match, it is discarded after the matching process.

You can revoke contact permission at any time through your device settings.

Location information

If you choose to grant location permission, SpaceChimps may use your location to determine a general location label such as a city, state or country for leaderboard functionality.

We do not intentionally collect or store your precise GPS coordinates as part of the leaderboard feature.

You can deny or revoke location permission through your device settings.

Support information

If you contact us through the App's support functionality, we may store information such as:

Your support message.
The category of your request.
Your callsign.
The date and time of the request.

We use this information to respond to support requests and help maintain the service.

2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

SpaceChimps does not intentionally require or collect:

Your real name.
Your physical home address.
Payment card information.
Your entire contact list.
Precise GPS coordinates for leaderboard purposes.
Knowingly identified personal information from children under 13.

3. How We Use Information

We use information collected through SpaceChimps to:

Create and maintain your account.
Provide gameplay functionality.
Display leaderboards and personal scores.
Maintain gameplay statistics.
Connect players and provide relevant social features.
Provide customer support.
Prevent fraud, abuse and misuse of the service.
Operate and improve SpaceChimps.
Display and measure advertising.
Send push notifications where you have granted permission.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

SpaceChimps uses third-party services to operate parts of the App.

Google AdMob

Google AdMob provides advertising services within SpaceChimps and may process advertising-related information in accordance with Google's own privacy practices.

MongoDB Atlas

We use MongoDB Atlas to store information required to operate SpaceChimps, including account, gameplay and other service data.

Firebase / Google services

We may use Firebase and related Google services to support functionality such as Android push notifications and other technical services.

These providers process information on our behalf or as part of the services they provide.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Account and Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your SpaceChimps account from within the App.

To delete your account:

Open SpaceChimps → Profile → Delete My Account

Account deletion permanently removes the account information and associated data that we hold, including applicable:

Callsign information.
Scores and gameplay records.
Friend relationships.
Push-notification registration information.
Support messages associated with the account.

Local information stored on your device may also be removed when the account is deleted.

Some information may remain temporarily where necessary for legitimate technical, security, legal or record-keeping purposes.

If you are unable to access the account-deletion function, you may contact us using the contact details below to request assistance with deletion.

6. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Generally:

Account and gameplay information is retained until your account is deleted.
Support messages may be retained for up to three years.
Technical/server logs may be retained for approximately 30 days.
Push-notification registration information is retained while it is required for notification functionality and removed when the associated account/device registration is deleted or is no longer required.

Retention periods may be extended where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or protect the security of the service.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed through SpaceChimps.

However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Children's Privacy

SpaceChimps is intended for users aged 13 and over.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

You can:

Delete your SpaceChimps account.
Change your callsign and character/suit customisation.
Control notification permissions.
Control contacts permission through your device.
Control location permission through your device.
Adjust available advertising and tracking preferences through your device settings.
